About Team Jake, 2026
I've coached Girls on the Run for five years but am taking a break this year (it's just the gap between my daughters - my first grader has already told me that ABSOLUTELY wants to do GOTR in two years!). If I'm not directly coaching, I still want to be involved and help our local GOTR Michiana community. I'm SO HAPPY to raise awareness and funds by being a SoleMate at Notre Dame's Holy Half Marathon on April 11th.
I've seen how the mix of games, teamwork, and lessons help build the girls' self-confidence as they hit a key age. As the girls I've coached have gone on to middle school and high school, I can attest to how the positive messages from Girls on the Run aren't just an immediate matter - they're laying the groundwork to face the challenges of their teen years and beyond.
Per Girls on the Run HQ, more than 68% of the girls in our program come from low-income communities. Funds raised by SoleMates provides these girls with scholarship and support to participate in our life-changing program, empowering them to be confident, healthy, and joyful. Your support will help Girls on the Run Michiana to maintain our commitment to serving all girls, regardless of financial need. Our goal is that no girl and no family will be turned away from GOTR.
